FX Cancels Tyrant
By Allison Moore

Washington, D.C. (September 8, 2016) -- FX has decided to cancel the drama, Tyrant, after three seasons, writes Entertainment Weekly.

The third season finale, and now the series finale, aired last night.

Tyrant, which starred Adam Rayner and Jennifer Finnigan, told the tale of the American son of a Middle-Eastern dictator who is forced to return to his country amid political turmoil. The show's production team included Howard Gordon who has enjoyed considerable success in television with similar political dramas, Homeland and 24.

But TV By the Numbers notes that Tyrant's ratings took a dip in season three, falling by roughly 33 percent compared to season two.

Still, Entertainment Weekly writes that Tyrant's producers hinted the show could live on with another network or streaming service.
